Today was full of super cute "firsts". Natalie wore her very first pair of daisy dukes, sat in a big girl swing and went down the slide! It was also her first play date at the park, our friends Heather, Matt and their adorable 2 year old son, Corbin, were there. Corbin was pretty uninterested in baby things, though. He was busy hiding in the bushes. I think Natalie's going to be a playground kid, she really seemed to enjoy her time outside and in the swing set. She really liked the swinging, too. We had been warned by Heather that Corbin got pretty green his first time in the swing! I think Natalie was a natural because she pretty much lived in her infant swing 24/7 the first 3 months of her life (thank you Fees family). It was a short visit, we didn't want to overdo it on Natalie's first trip, but it was so much fun. As we were leaving Corbin said "Bye bye Manamowee", too cute.
Side note: Check out the view of Natalie's thunder thighs in her stroller... I just want to eat them!
Natalie is almost able to sit up on her own now, she's a little wobbly but is getting better every day. We've had some rough nights lately, I think her teeth are really bothering her. And by rough, I mean she wakes up a few times (always before 10) needing her paci and then falls back asleep and wakes at 6 a.m. So I guess we're pretty blessed... it just seems terrible because we're so used to her sleeping 7-7. I was told by a pediatric nurse that babies tend to change their sleep habits around 6 months, any other mommies out there notice that?
Natalie is growing like a weed, she's outgrown her infant carrier (in length) and weighs 18.5 pounds! She's a monster! She's got a healthy appetite and the most hilarious personality. Can't wait for you all to meet her... if you haven't already!
Just precious!! She is "judging" in the second photo and in the last she looks like you have her in a pot to boil!! Great fun at the park. Life is good!
ReplyDelete18.5!!! wow! Graeme goes Friday for his 6 month (2 weeks late), so we will see if Natalie can beat him up or not! wink Sounds like a fun trip to the park. We are LIVING in the stroller and at the park these days with the nice weather. And yes, Graeme's sleeping pattern has gotten horrible. Waking up at 2 and 5 everynight. He isn't upset, he is just babbling away. We started solids recently so he is pooping at night again, he is teething, and he is flipping and spinning all over the crib which I think is waking him up. Ceilidh did the same thing, but then evened out again. Hopefully it will happen for Graeme and Natalie as well!
ReplyDeleteCyndy, That is almost EXACTLY what Natalie does! We call it "Tic Toc Around the Clock". Every time we look at the monitor she's facing a different way. And when she wakes she's only "talking", it lasts about 30 minutes and then she falls back asleep... but I'm sitting there watching every move looking for the first sign she needs me. If she does happen to roll over onto her tummy then there will be screaming. Tummy time is not happy time in Natalie land. We haven't had to deal with the poop monster at night, yet. Looking forward to that one.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute, Leigh! I can't wait to meet her! Have you tried a sling now that she's too long for the front carrier? Once BB could sit up she loved being in the sling on my hip, looking around at everything. As for the sleep I'd agree with the 6 month change. Pretty much around any growth spurt BB goes through comes with disrupted sleep for a week or two and then back to normal.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing - this is great!
Sharon, First of all... Happy Birthday, secondly... we need to do our girls day out in SP that we planned at my shower. Now that it's warmer it would be so nice! Can't wait to for you to meet Natalie and can't wait to see BB again, it's been since she was about Natalie's age! That's just wrong.
